How Long Does Car Detailing Take? A Realistic Timeline by Service

4 min read · Detailing Bureau, Philadelphia

The honest answer is: it depends on the service and the car's condition. Because we come to you, the time mostly matters for knowing when your car will be ready — you can keep working or relaxing while we're outside.

Typical time ranges

These are typical for a sedan or small SUV in normal condition. Larger vehicles add a little time.

  • Express Detail: about 1–1.5 hours
  • Interior Detailing: about 2–3 hours
  • Exterior Detailing: about 2–3 hours
  • The Bureau Package (inside + outside): about 4–5 hours
  • Paint Correction or Ceramic Coating: most of a day

What makes a detail take longer

Heavy pet hair, sand, spilled drinks that have soaked into carpet, and winter salt crust are the usual culprits. None of these are a problem — they just take more careful work. If you mention them in the booking notes, we plan the right amount of time from the start.

Do you need to be home?

Only for a quick hello at the start and a walk-around at the end. Many customers book while they work from home or while the car sits in an office lot.

Book it, or just ask

No deposit. We place an authorization hold on your card at booking and charge it only after the detail is finished and you've inspected it. Reschedule free by text up to 12 hours before.

Frequently asked

Can I use the car the same day?

Yes. Interiors are dried as we go and are typically ready to drive right away; seats may feel slightly cool for an hour after extraction.

What if I need to move my appointment?

Text (267) 827-0316. Rescheduling is free up to 12 hours before, and weather reschedules are always free.
